1,248 original rows to 1,200 final rows
In this example, 8 blank rows, 25 duplicate records and 15 matched existing records were removed. The 48 excluded rows are not included in the clean dataset.
Finish cleaning, deduplicating, comparing and reviewing your data. Download the prepared dataset as a clean CSV, with supporting change outputs when you need a record of the work.
Current dataset and supporting outputs. Illustrative session, not a live file.
1,200 rows / 6 columns / UTF-8
48 rows excluded from output
4 rows with 5 changed values
6 operations and final counts
1,248 original rows minus 8 blank rows, 25 duplicates and 15 matched existing records leaves 1,200 rows. Five cell values changed across four retained rows. Six applied transformations include a column rename. Supporting row sets are separate from the clean CSV, not additional rows to import.
Export creates a separate file. Your original source remains unchanged.
Before you export cleaned CSV data, compare the original row count with the final output. Review removals, changed values and applied transformations separately so each number has a clear meaning.
In this example, 8 blank rows, 25 duplicate records and 15 matched existing records were removed. The 48 excluded rows are not included in the clean dataset.
Two Company values were trimmed and three Email values were lowercased. One retained row had both changes. Changed-row counts are not the same as changed-cell counts.
A column rename, two value-cleaning operations and three removal operations explain this session. Renaming a header does not count as changing a cell value.
The primary export contains the current working dataset: the retained rows, selected output columns and values you have reviewed. It is the file to use for your next downstream import or spreadsheet workflow.
RowDesk produces a CSV that preserves tabular values with consistent quoting. Review the output columns and final count before downloading, especially when identifiers or destination-specific fields matter.
You can prepare data from CSV or Excel files. The primary output is CSV, not an edited Excel workbook. Export does not preserve a workbook's formatting, formulas or multiple-sheet layout.
Download clean CSV data and use the destination system's import process. RowDesk prepares the file; it does not upload records into your CRM or guarantee that every destination requirement is satisfied.
Keep the prepared dataset separate from the evidence of your cleanup. Changed-row, removed-row and audit-summary exports are Pro features.
Retain a separate set of records excluded by blank-row cleanup, duplicate removal or comparison filtering. Use it to inspect what was left out without mixing those records back into the clean CSV.
In the example: 48 removed rows, including 8 blank, 25 duplicate and 15 matched existing records.
Download the rows whose values changed for follow-up review. A row with several changed cells is still one changed row; the supporting output is not a second copy of the full clean dataset.
In the example: 4 retained rows contain the 5 changed values.
Retain a readable account of operation order, key parameters, counts and final row count. This report explains the transformation workflow; it is not a permanently hosted history or cloud backup.
In the example: 6 operations explain the result of 1,200 output rows.
Review whether records were removed as duplicates, completely blank rows or matches against an existing list. Use the applied operation and its summary to understand the cause before saving the supporting output.
CSV data preparation should leave you with more than a file that looks tidy. Inspect changed values, removed rows and transformation summaries to check that the result matches your intent before export.
Review data changes before downloadingConfirm important before-and-after values and review why records were excluded. Reconcile the final count with the removals, rather than relying on the filename alone.
Verify column names, required fields and the values your destination accepts. Prepare CSV for CRM import without assuming that cleanup alone covers every import rule.
Use the clean CSV for the downstream workflow. Keep change, removal and summary outputs separately when you need supporting evidence of your preparation.
Export creates a separate download. It does not overwrite the original CSV or XLSX source file. Once you have saved the files you need, begin another dataset workflow.
Undo and review history belong to the active session. Export supporting information before resetting or closing the workspace if you need to keep it; do not rely on RowDesk as a cross-session archive.
Local processing, separate output. In local-processing mode, the raw dataset is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to RowDesk servers.
About local processingSave the finished output before starting over with another file.
Prepare, review and download a separate CSV for your next workflow.
