Whitespace and blank rows
Trim spaces at the start and end of values. Remove completely blank rows without removing a record just because one field is empty.
Clean whitespace, blank rows, inconsistent values and exact duplicates directly in your browser before importing your data elsewhere.
Open a local file to inspect and clean its data.
UTF-8 CSV only. Up to 25 MB for this lightweight tool.
A CSV cleaner helps you inspect and correct common inconsistencies in a comma-separated data file. It prepares the values and structure without requiring spreadsheet formulas for every cleanup step.
This free RowDesk utility focuses on straightforward CSV data cleanup: whitespace, blank rows, casing, configured empty values, exact duplicates and column names. You choose the operations and review their impact before downloading a separate file.

Simple operations, an explicit preview and no automatic guessing about what a record means.
Trim spaces at the start and end of values. Remove completely blank rows without removing a record just because one field is empty.
Turn selected placeholders, such as NULL or N/A, into empty cells. Choose the tokens deliberately: a placeholder can have a real meaning in a particular dataset.
Set lowercase, uppercase or title casing for selected columns. Email casing trims surrounding spaces and converts to lowercase; it does not validate an email address.
Remove repeated whole rows after your selected cleanup, keeping the first occurrence. Excluding a column does not change the fields used for this comparison.
Keep the columns needed for your destination and rename their headers. Empty input headers receive a generated column name that you can edit.
Preview an apostrophe prefix on values that a spreadsheet might interpret as formulas. Protection is on by default and may also affect values beginning with + or -.
From the first scan to a separate, cleaned file. You choose what changes.
Choose a UTF-8 file, confirm whether the first row contains headers and let the tool scan the data.
Review the findings. Select only the fixes that fit your data and configure column-specific changes.
Check row counts, removals and sample value changes. Adjust the settings and preview again if needed.
Enter your email at the first download. The CSV is generated on your device, not sent with the email request.
Business exports often contain spaces around identifiers, several spellings or capitalizations of a status, empty records and repeated rows. These differences make filtering and import preparation harder, even when the file opens successfully.
Not every unusual value is an error. N/A may be a meaningful answer, two contacts can share a name, and a missing phone number does not make an entire row blank. Review the context before removing information.
This cleaner does not verify required CRM fields, infer data types or determine whether an email address exists. Malformed quotes and inconsistent field counts must be corrected before the file can be processed without discarding fields.
Consistent values and deliberate column names make a file easier to map to the destination's fields. Removing blank rows and exact repeats reduces avoidable clutter before an import.
Still check the destination's required fields, record identifiers and accepted values. This tool prepares a CSV for you to download; it does not connect to or update your CRM.
When records are similar but not identical, use RowDesk's duplicate-group review instead of treating every repeated name as a duplicate. For the full checklist, read how to prepare CSV data for CRM import.
Your raw CSV is read and processed in a browser worker on your device. File contents are not uploaded to RowDesk servers as part of this utility. The original file remains unchanged, and exports are created from the previewed result.
Email capture is a separate request containing lead, consent, tool and session fields. Usage events contain limited metadata, never raw cell values. The browser remembers successful gate completion without storing the dataset or email in that completion marker. Closing or refreshing the page discards the working data.

A few things to know about your files, cleanup options and downloads.
No. Reading, scanning, cleanup and CSV generation run locally in this browser. Email capture sends your email, optional marketing choice, tool identifier, consent version and session identifier, not the file, filename, rows or cell values. Separate usage events contain only allowlisted metadata. Loading the website itself also involves network requests.
There is no paid plan or account requirement for this standalone utility. An email is required before the first download. Marketing opt-in is optional and unchecked. Successful completion is remembered across the four free tools for 30 days in this browser; expiry or clearing browser storage prompts you again.
This utility accepts UTF-8 CSV files only, including comma-, semicolon- and tab-delimited CSV files. Save an Excel worksheet as CSV UTF-8 first, or use the full RowDesk workspace for CSV/XLSX input.
The cleaner treats cell values as text and does not convert IDs into numbers. A value such as 00123 remains 00123 in the cleaned CSV unless you explicitly change that field. When opening the exported file in a spreadsheet, import identifier columns as text to avoid the spreadsheet's own automatic conversion.
Two complete rows must contain identical values in every input column after the selected cleanup. The first row is kept. This is not matching by selected keys, fuzzy matching, record merging or a recommendation of which record is most complete.
Every preview starts from the loaded source data. Adjust the settings and preview again to change the proposed result. Download creates a separate CSV; it never overwrites your source file. This utility does not save transformation history or recover a workspace after the page is closed.
This lightweight utility accepts files up to 25 MB, with additional guards for two million cells and 500 columns. These are browser-memory safeguards for this tool, not RowDesk plan limits. Device memory still affects performance. The preview displays up to 20 rows at a time, but accepted files are processed in full.
